EHang (EH) launched its Global Fast Track Program to speed up regulatory assessment and commercialization of pilotless electric vertical takeoff and landing, or eVTOL, aircraft globally, with Sri Lanka as the first adopter, the company said Wednesday.
Sri Lanka's Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation and Civil Aviation Authority target initial sandbox commercialization within four months, subject to regulatory, technical, operational and safety approvals, the company said.
The initial operations will focus on a designated Colombo sandbox zone, with potential uses including passenger, tourism and airport shuttle services, as well as unmanned maritime cargo logistics, it added.
