United Overseas Bank or UOB (SGX:U11) has appointed Tan Choon Hin as the head of ASEAN and Greater China, effective Sept. 1, according to a company statement on Tuesday.

The newly established role for Tan involves managing UOB's regional business, which includes its fully-owned subsidiaries in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and mainland China, as well as its Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan branches.

Hin will directly report to UOB's chief executive, Wee Ee Cheong, the report added.
