Microsoft (MSFT) has signed an agreement with Aker Solutions to work on carbon capture and storage and carbon dioxide removal projects, Aker said Monday.
Under the agreement, Aker said it will work with developers, emitters, industry stakeholders and governments to support project development, reduce execution risk, and accelerate progress towards final investment decisions.
The company said that the collaboration combines Microsoft's expertise in digital technologies and carbon markets with Aker's procurement and construction capabilities.
Aker said selected carbon capture and storage and carbon dioxide removal projects that progress to a final investment decision will receive integrated engineering and execution support.
