United Airlines (UAL) is looking to expand its footprint internationally and at the John F. Kennedy International Airport, or JFK, in New York, CNBC reported Sunday, citing United Chief Executive Scott Kirby.

The air carrier is set to return to JFK through a partnership with JetBlue Airways (JBLU) as early as 2027, according to the report. United could purchase slots from other carriers at the airport, among other expansion initiatives, Kirby reportedly told CNBC.

The company is also slated to announce new international routes, with Kirby indicating interest in further growth in Southeast US and South America, according to the report.

United didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

The company's shares were up 1.1% in premarket activity Monday.
