NVent Electric said it will buy Maverick Power for up to $2.3 billion, enhancing its data-center capabilities within the quickly expanding infrastructure sector.

The electrical company on Monday agreed to acquire Maverick Power for $1.75 billion, subject to customary adjustments, including the potential additional consideration of up to $550 million in cash tied to the achievement of certain performance targets over the next two years.

Maverick Power manufactures engineered power-distribution and infrastructure solutions for data centers, including low- and medium-voltage switchgear, switchboards and integrated modular solutions.

The company--headquartered in McKinney, Texas--employs roughly 900 employees, with annual revenues of about $700 million.

The transaction will add a power-distribution platform to nVent's portfolio, as well as expand the company's offerings for new power architectures and system-level solutions and services for data centers, it said.

"Maverick Power is a great fit for nVent," Chief Executive Beth Wozniak said, adding the buy aligns with the company's strategy to strengthen its data-center and infrastructure offerings.

NVent expects the deal to close during the fourth quarter of 2026.

The acquisition is projected to be accretive to per-share earnings in the first year following completion of the transaction.
