The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a notice to the JW Marriott hotel in New Delhi's Aerocity over alleged licensing and food safety violations, the Indian regulator said in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

The food safety regulator said an inspection found the hotel, operated by Aria Hotels and Consultancy Services, conducting "retail and relabeller activities" without the required license endorsement.

Inspectors also reported labelling, hygiene and storage issues, including pest infestation, unclean utensils and problems with drinking water, FSSAI said in the post. The regulator also flagged shortcomings in allergen separation, food containers, identification and labeling.

Aria Hotels did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
