Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TPE:2330), d/b/a TSMC, distributed NT$36 billion in employee bonuses for the second quarter, up more than 50% from a year earlier, Taipei Times reported Monday, citing the chipmaker's financial data.
The bonuses were paid Friday as TSMC reported record second-quarter earnings, with net profit surging 77% year-on-year to NT$706.6 billion and EPS climbing to NT$27.25. Employee bonuses for the first half of the year totaled NT$70.4 billion, up 54% from a year earlier, according to the report.
