Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) said Thursday its August average daily volume, or ADV, rose 14% year over year, while open interest increased 19%.

Total energy ADV climbed 13% year over year, with oil ADV up 12%, the exchange operator said.

In commodities, agriculture and metals ADV surged 92%, led by gains in sugar, cocoa, cotton, and coffee trading, it said.

Intercontinental Exchange said financials ADV increased 7% and interest rates ADV rose 8% year over year.
