Major digital assets rose Thursday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) topping $81,000.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, jumped 6.2% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 rose 1.4%, the S&P 500 added 1.1%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 1.2%.
Bitcoin gained 5.7% to $81,584, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume rose 30% to $35.9 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, rose 5.3% to $2,513.
XRP (XRP-USD) gained 9.1%, BNB (BNB-USD) rose 5.6%, and Solana (SOL-USD) increased 6.1%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) surged 10%, while Cardano (ADA-USD) advanced 13%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry rose 5.2% in the past 24 hours to $2.74 trillion, with trading volume rising 27% to $95.6 billion.
