1152 GMT - RBC BlueBay Asset Management is skeptical that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi would favor too strong a yen, RBC BlueBay Asset Management's fixed income CIO Mark Dowding says in a note. "Ultimately, we are skeptical that Takaichi will want too much yen strength," he says. RBC BlueBay thinks that any forthcoming change in policy is more focussed on avoiding further weakness in the yen and domestic bonds, with this having the potential to further weaken Takaichi's own position within the ruling LDP, Dowding says. The dollar is last up 0.3% at 156.20 yen, having dropped to a one-month low of 155.27 yen overnight, LSEG data show.
