Tesla, Lululemon, AMC, Guidewire, Trade Desk, UiPath, and More Stocks That Explain Today's Market

Stocks declined Friday after the U.S. jobs report for August came in well above expectations, fueling a rise in odds that the Federal Reserve will hike interest rates.

Tesla stock dropped 5.6% after the company launched its Cybercab event on Thursday. However, Tesla didn't livestream the event or provide any details, which could have disappointed some investors. The electric-vehicle maker said Cybercab rides will become open to the public on Friday at 5 p.m. Central time.

Artificial-intelligence stocks got a boost as yields fell. Optical networking company Coherent, chip and networking company Marvell, memory supplier Sandisk, and hard-drive maker Seagate rose.

Shares of Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian fell after Bill Pulte, head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, accused the major credit bureaus of overcharging Americans and said the U.S. is considering a "bi-merge" approach to credit reporting. Fair Isaac, the maker of the FICO score, tumbled 17%.

Lululemon Athletica plummeted 18% after the athleticwear company posted disappointing second-quarter earnings and cut its full-year guidance. The company led the ranks of the worst-performing S&P stocks on Friday.

Zscaler slid 3.3% after the cybersecurity company reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings and issued strong guidance. Investors may be locking in profits with shares up 36% the past three months.

Samsara rose 4% after the software company topped Wall Street's second-quarter earnings target, as annual recurring revenue jumped 30%.

Guidewire Software slumped 22% after the software developer beat expectations for the fiscal fourth quarter-but not by enough to stop investors dumping the stock, which has almost doubled since late June.

Planet Labs declined 1.2% even as the Earth imaging company reported strong fiscal second-quarter earnings. Defense revenue almost doubled to $81 million in the quarter as military demand continues to boost the space industry.

UiPath stock tumbled 14%. The automation software firm beat Wall Street's estimates for its fiscal second-quarter revenue while aligning with expectations for earnings per share.

AMC Entertainment stock advanced 7% Friday after CEO Adam Aron publicly criticized Robinhood for its tokenized stocks. Aron demanded the online trading platform stop the trading of AMC stock tokens.

Trade Desk declined 3% after the advertising technology company announced it will cut its workforce by 15% as part of a broad restructuring effort. The company expects the restructuring to be mostly completed during its fiscal third quarter.

Oxford Industries tumbled 15% after the apparel company slashed its earnings guidance for its fiscal year ending Jan. 31. and lowered its revenue outlook for the fiscal third-quarter.
