Shares of Methode Electronics fell after the company widened its loss in the fiscal first quarter.
The stock tumbled 15% in pre-market trading to $15.34. Shares closed on Wednesday down 1.2% at $18.10, and were up 173% this year.
The power distribution and lighting solutions provider reported a fiscal first-quarter loss of $11.4 million, or 32 cents a share, compared with a loss of $10.3 million, or 29 cents a share, a year earlier.
Stripping out certain one-time items, the company reported an adjusted loss of 22 cents a share. Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting an adjusted loss of 20 cents a share.
Revenue rose to $265.4 million, up from $240.5 million and ahead of analyst expectations for $238.3 million, according to FactSet. The growth was driven by higher volumes in the company's industrial portfolio, which includes data centers, Chief Executive Jon DeGaynor said.
"However, one-time costs, including the impact of last year's dataMate divestiture and our investments in talent and capabilities, more than offset the higher sales and operational improvements," he said.
"Absent the impact of the divestiture, Adjusted Ebitda would have increased year-over-year."
The company also reiterated its full-year guidance for net sales in fiscal 2027 between $1.025 billion and $1.075 billion.
