Oil, Interest Rates Limit Wall Street Pre-Bell; Asia, Europe Muted

Wall Street futures were mixed pre-bell Thursday, as interest rates eased marginally but global crude oil prices tracked nigher.

In the futures, the S&P 500 was flat, the Nasdaq declined 0.1% and the Dow Jones was up 0.2%.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures traded up 1.3% at $92.21 in morning hours.

The VanEck Semiconductor fund (SMH) traded down 0.7% before the open.

Broadcom (AVGO) shares traded down 3.1% pre-bell after the semiconductor enterprise overnight reported fiscal Q3 earnings and revenue above expectations, but traders backed away on company guidance.

Asian exchanges largely churned overnight, while European bourses edged north midday on the continent.

On the economic calendar is the international trade in goods and services report for July, the weekly jobless claims bulletin, and the Q2 productivity and costs release, at 8:30 am ET.

The S&P Global US composite August purchasing managers index (PMI) logs at 9:45 am, followed by ISM Services Index for August at 10 am.

The weekly EIA natural gas report files at 10:30 am.

Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller and Cleveland President Beth Hammack are slated to speak on Thursday.

In pre-market action, Bitcoin traded at $77,849, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.78%, off slightly from Wednesday. Spot gold commanded $4,423 an ounce.
