Top cryptocurrencies were broadly lower Monday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) holding above the $78,000 level.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, fell 1% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.2%, the S&P 500 eased 0.3%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.6%.
Bitcoin rose 0.1% to $78,882, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume surged 117.7% to $33.12 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, declined 0.7% to $2,481.
XRP (XRP-USD) lost 1.6%, BNB (BNB-USD) decreased 1%, and Solana (SOL-USD) eased 1.8%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) declined 2.8%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) fell 2.1%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry fell 0.2% in the past 24 hours to $2.65 trillion, with trading volume rising 83.1% to $87.93 billion.
