President Trump called for a federal tax incentive to boost US film and television production, saying in a Truth Social post that Congress should "immediately" approve a "Federal Production Incentive to Create Entertainment Jobs in America."
Trump said the idea followed a meeting with actor Jon Voight, whom he has called his "Hollywood Ambassador."
He said production has increasingly shifted to Canada and other countries, leaving less work in the US, and said he would push Republicans and Democrats to jointly draft legislation.
