0513 GMT - Samsung Electronics' expanding high-bandwidth memory shipments for AI applications are poised to offset softer general-purpose memory growth next year, says Mirae Asset Securities' Kim Young-gun. The analyst expects the South Korean tech company's 2027 HBM bit growth and average selling prices to surge 57% and 49%, respectively, likely outpacing the projected 16% bit growth and 20% ASP expansion for general-purpose memory chips. Mirae expects Samsung's earnings to be weighed by the won's strength against the dollar but to remain solid. It cuts its operating-profit forecast for Samsung by 5.7% to 370.057 trillion won in 2026 and by 4.2% to 535.682 trillion won in 2027.
