0443 GMT - The Bank of Japan is expected to raise interest rates in October and December, bringing its policy rate to 1.5%, says Sony Financial Group economist Takayuki Miyajima. If realized, interest rates would approach neutral levels, leading the BOJ to examine financial conditions even more carefully before carrying out further action, he notes. Miyajima expects the next rate hike thereafter to happen in July 2027. While Japan's terminal rate is likely at 1.75%, that level could be influenced by shifts in U.S. monetary policy, he adds.
