Apple (AAPL): Shares closed up 3.6% a day after the company introduced its first-ever foldable iPhone at a product event that also featured Apple's new CEO, John Ternus.
Oracle (ORCL): Shares were surging more than 6% in recent aftermarket trading after the database and cloud-computing company posted sharply higher profit and revenue in its latest quarter, with sales from its cloud-infrastructure business more than doubling. Shares closed the sesssion down 5.4% but were recently up more than 6% after hours.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSM): TSMC's U.S.-listed shares slipped 1.7%. The chip maker reported that August revenue surged 53% from last year.
Macy's (M): Despite raising its guidance on strong earnings before the bell, the retailer was down 4.7%.
