Fox (FOX) is facing expanded antitrust scrutiny from the US Department of Justice over its $22 billion acquisition of streaming platform Roku (ROKU), Semafor reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The DOJ plans to seek additional information and documents from the companies through a so-called "second request," involving another round of data and document sharing, according to the report.

Fox announced the cash-and-stock deal in June, saying the acquisition would strengthen its advertising business and expand its reach for sports and news content, the report added.

Under the agreement, Roku shareholders would receive $96 in cash and about 0.97 Fox Class A shares for each Roku share, valuing the offer at $160 per share, the report said.

Fox and Roku did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
