RTX (RTX) unveiled a collaboration between its Pratt & Whitney Canada unit and Bharat Forge to evaluate the use of turboprop engines on high-altitude, long-airtime aerial drones for India's national defense forces.
The India-based Bharat Force Aerospace will lead in the installation of engines into drone airframes, while Pratt & Whitney Canada, a builder of turboprops, will evaluate engine performance, RTX said Tuesday.
The drones are intended to provide long-endurance surveillance, intelligence and reconnaissance over land and sea, RTX said.
