TradingKey — US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday, hitting back against mounting calls for AI regulation and taking aim directly at Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei. He wrote: "The only control or 'guardrails' AI needs is a strong and smart (high IQ!) president, and the United States has just that, and far more."

Trump stated that the only reason for the momentum behind AI and data centers is that the US is far ahead of every other country, while warning, "Do not kill the goose that lays the golden eggs."

This warning was not external criticism; Amodei published a blog post on Saturday titled "We Must Pace the Frontier," advocating for a slowdown in AI model development to "reduce the risk of severe problems."

A few days earlier, former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon resigned and warned that the technology could "kill us all before the end of this decade," while accusing OpenAI and Anthropic of "gambling with our lives." OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk also expressed support over the weekend for calls to slow down.
