The U.S. and China are in talks to cut tariffs on certain goods ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the White House next week, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing sources.

The proposed deal would lower duties on US agricultural and energy exports in exchange for favorable rates on Chinese manufacturing inputs, the report said.

Executives from state-owned agricultural trader China Foods (HKG:0506), formerly COFCO International, are among those being considered to join Xi's delegation for discussions with US President Donald Trump, the report said.

The U.S. Trade Representative, China's Ministry of Commerce and China Foods did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
