Bailing Yuxiu (Zhuhai) Pharmaceutical, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guizhou Bailing Group Pharmaceutical (SHE:002424), has received approval from China's National Medical Products Administration to conduct clinical trials of Tangning Tongluo Cream for diabetic foot ulcers, according to a Wednesday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.

Tangning Tongluo is a traditional Chinese medicine drug available in tablet and cream formulations for diabetes-related conditions.

The clinical trial application was approved subject to further refinement of the trial protocol.

In November 2024, the company received NMPA approval to conduct a Phase III clinical trial of Tangning Tongluo tablets for diabetic retinopathy. In October 2025, it received approval to conduct clinical trials of Tangning Tongluo tablets for Type 2 diabetes.

The company said the cream could potentially complement its Tangning Tongluo tablets to form an "oral plus topical" treatment system.
