Shinhan Financial (KRX:055550) and Vingroup (HOSE:VIC) have agreed to pursue capital market opportunities through Shinhan Investment & Securities Vietnam and to scale up banking and finance services for growing VinFast electric vehicle demand, according to a statement on Monday.

The new collaboration builds on their auto finance partnership, with Shinhan Vietnam Bank providing $100 million in cumulative auto loans to VinFast vehicle buyers since 2024.

Meanwhile, Shinhan Vietnam Finance offered 15 billion won in motorcycle installment financing in the first half of this year alone.

Additionally, Shinhan Investment & Securities Vietnam is serving as sole arranger for Vingroup's first Arirang Bond issuance, targeting domestic institutional investors for a fourth-quarter launch.

The securities unit also plans to act as co-lead underwriter for the domestic bond issuance and make a direct investment of 40 billion won.

Separately, Shinhan held its Vietnam demo day for domestic startups and signed an agreement with the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund to support overseas-bound companies.
