Microsoft-backed (MSFT) Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceXAI and Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google were sued in federal court over allegations that they illegally agreed to slow the pace of AI development, the Associated Press reported Sunday.

The lawsuit, filed Friday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, was brought by four paid subscribers to ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Gemini, the report said.

The plaintiffs allege the agreement could reduce the value of the companies' AI services, according to the Associated Press.

The companies did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
