Utilities and technologies gain while banks slide, with the Europe-wide Stoxx 600 rising 0.2%. London's FTSE 100 adds 0.1%, led by a 9% jump for home-improvement retailer Kingfisher after a guidance raise. In Paris, the CAC 30 edges up 0.05%. Gains for software and utilities stocks counter weakness in autos and luxuries. Renault falls 1.4%. Autos also fall in Frankfurt, as Germany's DAX is 0.1% lower.
