Similarweb appointed Michael Akkerman, an executive at Digital Turbine, as its next chief executive officer.

Akkerman succeeds Similarweb's founder and CEO Or Offer, the data and analytics company said Thursday. Similarweb said earlier this year that Offer would step down after nearly two decades at the helm of the company.

Akkerman is currently chief business officer at Digital Turbine, which offers a mobile advertising platform. He has held previous roles at Data.ai, Cardlytics, Uber and Pinterest.

Akkerman's resignation from his role at Digital Turbine will take effect Oct. 30, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
