Achilles (TYO:5142) discontinued production at its Chinese manufacturing subsidiary Achilles (Foshan) New Materials as it aims to expand the automotive materials business, according to a Monday filing with the Tokyo bourse.

The company will consolidate the manufacturing facilities related to the automotive materials business at Achilles' factories in Japan and at its joint venture in Jiangsu Province, China, to optimize its production structure, the filing said.
