Navitas Semiconductor received an Army grant to develop 10-kilovolt silicon carbide power semiconductor technology.

Navitas Semiconductor shares jumped 15.2% in aftermarket trading.

The semiconductor company will be contributing to the Alattis project to develop, execute and validate a novel domestic manufacturing process for ultra-high-voltage semiconductor devices through design, fabrication and testing.

The project is sponsored by the Army Research Lab, which operates under the Army's combat capabilities development command division.

The program is designed to accelerate the development of silicon carbide insulated-gate bipolar transistors and associated technologies for mission-critical systems used by the armed forces.
