An outbreak of E. coli and salmonella linked to alfalfa sprouts now includes 76 cases and six hospitalizations, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday.
In August, the CDC and the Food and Drug Administration said they were investigating an outbreak linked to alfalfa sprouts distributed by Everything Sprouts. At that time, there were 55 reported cases.
Everything Sprouts LLC recalled multiple products including Calco and Everything Sprouts brand alfalfa sprouts. On Sept. 23, Berlin Seeds recalled alfalfa sprouting seeds.
