In corporate news, Ford (F) CEO Jim Farley said the issue at a supplier that impacted F-150 truck output has been resolved but that it will affect the automaker's Q3 wholesale figures, Reuters reported. Ford shares were down 2%.
Cal-Maine Foods (CALM) swung to a fiscal Q1 loss year over year as sales dropped by double digits amid lower egg prices. Its shares fell 2.5%.
Conagra Brands (CAG) reported an unexpected year-over-year increase in fiscal Q1 earnings, but volume weakness drove its revenue lower. Shares declined 2.3%.
General Mills (GIS) said it has named Chief Operating Officer Dana McNabb as chief executive, effective Jan. 1, replacing Jeff Harmening. Shares were down 2.8%.
