Sibanye Stillwater (SBSW) said Wednesday its workforce has ratified a new bargaining agreement with the United Steel Workers International Union at its East Boulder mine in Montana.

The deal, effective retroactively from Aug. 1, 2026, through July 31, 2029, will provide a wage increase of 4.5% in the first year, the greater of 3.5% or the consumer price index in the second year, followed by greater than 3% or CPI in the third year, the company said.

The agreement is crucial to implementing the company's US platinum group metals operations plan, according to a statement.

Strike action by the union at the Stillwater East mine and Columbus metallurgical facility is ongoing, according to the company.

United Steel Workers International Union did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
