Centaurus Metals (ASX:CTM) formally secured access to Brazil's 230,000-volt national electricity grid after signing a transmission system use contract with the national electricity system operator, advancing power infrastructure arrangements for its Jaguar Nickel Sulfide Project in Para, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
The agreement covers an initial 20-megawatt power supply through a 36-kilometer transmission line, with all necessary environmental, mining and easement approvals already secured, per the filing.
The company will now seek approval from Brazil's national electric energy agency for the connection facilities and finalize a connection agreement with the existing transmission-line concession holder, the filing said.
Negotiations for additional offtake, strategic funding and senior debt are well advanced as the company works to finalize a comprehensive financing package for Jaguar's development, the filing added.
The exploration company's shares shed 2% in recent Friday trade.
