GNI (TYO:2160) will join TOPIX effective Oct. 30, making it one of the first Growth Market companies selected under the second phase of the index's reform, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.
The revised framework introduces periodic reviews based on liquidity and free-float-adjusted market capitalization, drawing constituents from the Prime, Standard, and Growth segments.
With roughly 140 trillion yen in assets tracking TOPIX, GNI expects benefits including a more diversified and stable shareholder base, expanded institutional investor interest, and greater recognition in domestic and global capital markets.
