Dreadnought Resources (ASX:DRE) intersected shallow high-grade gold from diamond drilling at the Metzke's North discovery, part of its Illaara project in Western Australia, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

Drilling returned seven meters at 8.6 grams per tonne grade of gold from eight meters, including one meter at 57 g/t grade of gold from eight meters, two meters at 4.2 g/t grade of gold from 112 meters, and two meters at 1.2 g/t grade of gold from 21 meters, the filing said.

The results will be used to upgrade the existing resource while also supporting mining studies, per the filing.
