ABC-Mart's (TYO:2670) all-store sales grew 14.6% year-on-year in September, driven by promoted new sneakers and apparel such as matching tracksuits.
The retailer's existing stores posted a 14.9% year-on-year increase in sales during the month under review, according to a Monday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The number of customers at all stores jumped 9.9% while spending rose 4.3%. At existing stores, customer count gained 10.4% while sales per customer climbed 4.1%.
The retailer opened six stores and closed two stores during the month, bringing the total store count to 1,118.
Shares of ABC-Mart added nearly 2% at market close.
