0446 GMT - The rise in Thailand's consumer-price index likely breached the Bank of Thailand's 1%-3% target range in September, according to the median forecast from a Wall Street Journal poll of 10 economists. They expect headline CPI to have increased 3.1% on year, beating August's 2.53% increase. Headline inflation last crossed the 3% mark in February 2023, when it hit 3.79%. Inflation likely rose due to increased retail fuel prices, Nomura economists say in a note. Pork and chicken prices also remained elevated given supply constraints, despite rising at a slower pace, they add. "This was partly offset by a lower per-unit electricity price under the new progressive rate structure, effective from the September bill," Nomura says. The CPI data are due Tuesday.
