BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) plans to sell its Racco electric minicar outside Japan, initially targeting Sri Lanka and Macao, Nikkei Asia reported Monday, citing the Chinese automaker.

The automaker plans to expand the Racco to other markets, focusing initially on right-hand-drive countries and regions similar to Japan, Nikkei noted. BYD entered Japan's passenger-car market in January 2023 and has delivered 10,000 vehicles there, the report said, BYD's Vice President Liu Xueliang.
