Chevron (CVX) is evacuating nonessential personnel from offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico as a potential tropical storm approaches, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a company statement.

Production from company-operated assets continues at "normal levels," Chevron reportedly said.

The company didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
