Xortx Therapeutics (XRTX) shares rose 22% in after-hours trading after the company said it has received inquiries from potential commercialization partners for its XRx-026 gout program, though it has not entered into any agreements.
The company said Thursday its planned Clinical Trial Application submission to Health Canada would support a two-part clinical study, XRX-OXY-102, evaluating Xorlo, its proprietary oxypurinol formulation, for the treatment of gout.
Xortx said that conducting the first part of the study in Canada could accelerate key clinical data needed for a planned new drug application with the US Food and Drug Administration.
