The US Department of Labor has suspended Cognizant, Infosys (NSE:INFY, BOM:500209), Tata Consultancy Services (NSE:TCS, BOM:532540), Wipro (NSE:WIPRO, BOM:507685), HCL Technologies (BOM:532281, NSE:HCLTECH), Capgemini, Microsoft and Adobe from the Permanent Labor Certification Program amid allegations of system abuse, according to a Thursday press conference.
The department will stop accepting new labor certification applications involving the eight companies and halt the processing of pending applications.
The program requires employers to demonstrate that hiring foreign workers would not adversely affect the wages and working conditions of similarly employed US workers.
