Cathay Pacific Airways plans to hold talks with Boeing (BA) and Airbus next year as it considers ordering up to 50 additional wide-body aircraft, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The Hong Kong carrier is also close to deciding whether to acquire more single-aisle and wide-body aircraft by exercising existing options and purchase rights, the sources said. A decision could come as soon as November, according to the report.
Cathay Pacific, Airbus, and Boeing did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
