Singapore's total retail sales rose 1.7% year over year to SG$4.3 billion in September, following a 0.8% increase in the prior month, according to data from the Statistics Department released on Thursday.

Excluding motor vehicles, parts, and accessories, retail sales gained 2.5% year over year to SG$3.6 billion, compared with a 1.7% growth in the preceding month.
