Wall Street futures pointed largely higher pre-bell Friday as traders looked for values after the Thursday chip wreck, and awaited the latest job report from Washington.

In the futures, the S&P 500 rose 0.3%, the Nasdaq inclined 1.4% but the Dow Jones was off 0.9%.

The VanEck Semiconductor exchange-traded fund (SMH), a proxy for the sector, traded up 4.8% pre-bell, after the 11.2% divot in Thursday that was triggered by concerns new leadership in Washington could cramp data-center builds and chip demand.

In economic news, West Texas Intermediate crude oil traded down 0.3% at $90.27 a barrel, and 10-year US Treasuries offered 4.84%, in morning trades.

Traders also look forward to the October employment situation report from Washington at 8:30 am ET, a window into how labor markets are faring during high energy prices and geopolitical uncertainties.

Asian exchanges traded solidly lower overnight on AI-sector concerns, while European bourses tracked south midday on the continent.

Micron Technology (MU) shares traded up 8.4% pre-bell, as the memory-chip maker joined the tech rebound.

Enbridge (ENB) and Moderna (MRNA) plan to report earnings pre-bell, among others.

On the economic calendar, in addition to the national jobs report, is the University of Michigan consumer sentiment bulletin at 10 am ET, followed by the weekly Baker Hughes domestic oil-and-gas rig count at 1 pm.

Federal Reserve New York President John Williams, St. Louis President

Alberto Musalem, and Governor Michelle Bowman are slated to speak on Friday.

In premarket action, Bitcoin traded at $76,082, while spot gold commanded $4,069 an ounce.
