Why now, and why Wabo Technology? This clarity drives Wabo Technology to maintain its core logic even as it expands its organization. On the product front, the company has planned two hardware products, "Lingxi" and "Dreamweaver," but Zhang Xingzhi emphasizes a seemingly contradictory point: Wabo Technology is not a hardware company. "We are not moving away from hardware; we are putting hardware back into its correct position within the entire technology system," he said. "Hardware addresses the question of 'whether a signal can be obtained,' while the neural intent model solves the question of 'whether the machine can understand what a person wants to do under a specific task, and when to confirm, correct, pause, or take over.' The latter determines how far BCI can go."
This judgment stems from his observation of industry pain points. Currently, most BCI devices can only perform simple attention detection or label-based recognition, such as "Are you thinking left or right?" But in the real world, human intent extends far beyond binary choices. For example, when piloting a drone, you not only need to tell it to "fly forward," but also to promptly "correct the course" when an obstacle is detected, or even "pause" or "take over" in an emergency. These subtle, continuous changes in intent are the true targets that BCI needs to decode.

Having been in operation for less than five months, the company completed its seed round financing, led by Ceyuan Capital, and nearly simultaneously launched its angel round. Zhang Xingzhi revealed a detail: to seize the window for this financing round, one investment institution even brought its entire post-investment and risk management teams to Wabo's site, completing due diligence and making a decision within a week.
Why are top-tier capital firms so "eager"? In his view, investors are not focused on a single product yet to be launched; they are assessing whether Wabo Technology can establish a complete capability chain, from neural signal acquisition and data governance to model training and feedback from the physical world. Meanwhile, positive signals from the policy level are also endorsing this path. Sichuan Province pioneered the first provincial-level classification and pricing standard for BCI medical services. Zhang Xingzhi sees this as an important institutional signal. "BCI is beginning to transition from a scientific research concept to a service language that can be recognized, evaluated, and used by hospitals." He also draws a clear boundary: "Consumer-grade and medical-grade applications will maintain a distinct separation.
