During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, Northern Minzu University organized a special event titled "Harvest Celebration for Double Festival, Labor Cultivates New Talents." Faculty and students participated in making mooncakes, picking apples at the campus farm, and catching fresh fish from Ming Lake. These hands-on activities allowed them to experience traditional Chinese culture while fostering a warm campus atmosphere through shared harvest joy, making the dual festival celebration particularly memorable.

At noon on October 1st, the entrances of the South, North, West, and He Yuan canteens buzzed with excitement. University leaders, including Dong·Huaerdan, Bao Wenxing, Huang Yongdong, and Mao Jiandong, along with department heads, distributed mooncakes, apples, and specially prepared fish dishes to students, celebrating the festive occasion together.

Before the holidays, students and faculty from the College of Biological Science and Engineering worked together to make traditional mooncakes, immersing themselves in the craftsmanship of Mid-Autumn culture and the joy of labor. In the university’s apple orchard and Yongning Farm, they picked apples, savoring the fruits of their efforts. By Ming Lake, they observed and took part in fishing activities, strengthening bonds and deepening their sense of belonging.

Du Bin, a student from the Mechanical and Electronic Engineering Class 232, shared, "I’m always grateful for the university’s thoughtful gifts during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The mooncakes and braised fish were delicious! These moments are among the most cherished memories of my college life. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy holiday—may we continue to grow and find joy in our beautiful campus."

Freshman Deng Hailu from the College of Biological Science and Engineering expressed her delight: "Receiving the festival gifts at the canteen brought an unexpected wave of emotion. Being away from home for so long, this warmth from the university felt like a bridge instantly connecting us to campus life. I’ll treasure this sincere gesture and wish everyone a wonderful holiday!"

More than just a festive celebration, this event served as a practical lesson in holistic education, blending cultural appreciation with hands-on labor. It reinforced the university’s motto, "Unity, Progress, and Striving for Excellence," while delivering an immersive labor education experience. By bringing the fruits of labor directly to students' tables, the university demonstrated its commitment to student care, setting an exemplary model for festive education.

Moving forward, Northern Minzu University plans to further deepen labor education, expand practical learning opportunities, and enrich student development initiatives. By fostering a supportive campus environment and integrating labor education with student care, the university aims to fulfill its mission of nurturing well-rounded, morally grounded, and thriving individuals.
