U.S. stock markets continued their upward trend on Friday, as concerns over institutional selling of artificial intelligence stocks eased. Technology company earnings reports were mixed, but this did not dampen the overall market sentiment, with all three major indices closing in positive territory. The U.S. dollar stabilized at lower levels, while the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note rose to around 4.74%. Gold prices trended lower, and oil prices fluctuated with an upward bias.

Hong Kong's three major stock indices opened higher collectively today. The Hang Seng Index started the session up 0.4% at 25,987.31 points. The Hang Seng Tech Index gained 0.68%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 0.55%.

In sector performance, internet and technology stocks were broadly higher, with Alibaba surging over 3% and Baidu advancing more than 2%. AI application stocks also saw gains, with MINIMAX rising nearly 2%. The electrical equipment sector was broadly stronger, as Dongfang Electric climbed over 2%. Conversely, storage concept shares opened lower, with the CSOP two-times long Hynix fund falling more than 13%.
