At the Black Hat conference, ServiceNow has announced an acceleration of its "autonomous security" vision by unveiling six unified solutions and new AI specialists. This initiative aims to help enterprises establish a prevention-first, AI-driven cyber defense that can halt, contain, and remediate threats at machine speed before they escalate into security incidents.

As businesses adopt agentic AI, security teams face new challenges. Each new agent, identity, and line of code exponentially expands the attack surface at a pace far beyond what any human team or fragmented toolset can manage. A typical enterprise runs over 70 security tools, leading to siloed insights across endpoints, networks, cloud environments, and identities. ServiceNow addresses this complexity through its "Shift Zero" philosophy, integrating these elements into a single unified system aiming for "zero exposure" at any given moment.

The six newly launched solutions cover critical areas of security defense: Unified exposure management leverages agentic exposure management to consolidate vulnerability findings from any source, prioritizing them with threat intelligence. Continuous vulnerability detection encompasses application security, dynamic application security testing, and external attack surface management, unifying risk management across code, cloud, and infrastructure. Cyber-physical system security uses AI technology from Armis to agentlessly discover assets in OT and healthcare networks, establish behavioral baselines, and continuously verify compliance. Identity and access security applies the principle of least privilege to AI agents, service accounts, and cloud identities through AI agent access security and non-human identity remediation. Agentic incident response enables tier-two SOC AI specialists to autonomously build and execute multi-stage response plans for complex events. Cyber risk and compliance uses AI for continuous control monitoring, transforming compliance into an ongoing operational signal while supporting migration to post-quantum cryptography standards.

These capabilities are enabled by ServiceNow's strategic acquisitions of Armis and Veza. Armis provides real-time visibility into all connected assets, while Veza's access graph maps effective permissions for both human and machine identities. Currently, eight products including agentic exposure management and application security are available, with four more products, including a vulnerability remediation AI specialist, expected to launch in December of this year.
