During a routine press conference on September 9, Taiwan authorities have been intensifying stringent scrutiny over the entry of popular mainland Chinese products and services, including iQiyi Inc., Xiaohongshu, Luosifen rice noodles, Zhang Xue motorcycles, and Luckin Coffee Inc.

A reporter raised a question about the potential strict examination that Luckin Coffee Inc. might face upon entering Taiwan. In response, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office delivered a firm statement.

The spokesperson expressed a welcoming attitude toward Taiwanese compatriots using high-quality mainland goods and voiced support for mutually beneficial two-way investment and cooperation between enterprises across the strait. The comments took aim at the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities, accusing them of acting out of narrow partisan interests by deliberately obstructing and restricting mainland investment and product inflows.

According to the statement, such actions deteriorate the local business environment and harm the vital interests of the Taiwanese people, characterizing the measures as deeply unpopular political maneuvering that disregards the well-being of the public.
