Procter & Gamble shares tumbled 5.15% in pre-market trading after the consumer goods giant reported mixed quarterly results and issued a disappointing forecast for fiscal 2027.

The company's fourth-quarter sales of $21.2 billion missed Wall Street expectations, while organic sales were flat as demand weakened in categories such as grooming and oral care. P&G also warned that it faces a roughly $1 billion after-tax headwind from higher raw material, energy, and transportation costs tied to elevated oil prices, creating a significant drag on earnings growth.

Looking ahead, P&G guided for fiscal 2027 core earnings per share of $6.89 to $7.11—below the $7.04 consensus—and total sales growth of just 1% to 3%, slower than the 3.3% achieved in fiscal 2026. The cautious outlook, combined with margin pressure from increased marketing investments and a challenging consumer spending environment, triggered the sharp sell-off.
